Give the people a new vote!

Just back from a long weekend in Oxford/London where I met up with friends to go on the People's March to demand a new vote on Brexit. What a great turnout - an estimated 700,000+ people - that's about 3/4 million - who gave up a whole day of their lives to protest. And although there's not been too much coverage of the march thus far, there does seem to be a growing appreciation of its significance. The Independent newspaper, for example, which has just launched its #FinalSay campaign to demand that voters are given a voice on the final Brexit deal, today reported on the intervention of Udo Bullman, the leader of the socialist group in the European Parliament, who said that the strength of support shown at the march means a vote now has to be on the cards.

I've been quiet over the past few weeks, mainly due to a big decision I made on the return from my previous UK trip. The decision was to finish the half-done new website for my business back in London. The only way to get it done was to overdo it - I worked 18 hour days on more than one occasion. The whole thing took our small team around 6 weeks. It wasn't exactly what I came out to Spain to do, but the decision wouldn't have been taken if I hadn't been here and I'm pleased with the end result. I reasoned that if we didn't do it, we'd never know what difference it could make.

In between long days cropping photographs and the like, I finally found that elusive gardener to chop down the dead trees and do some heavy clearing - and managed to buy and plant a veritable forest of tropical trees in the garden. There's papaya, avocado, cherry, grapefruit, fig, banana and even a Jamaican moringa! More on that next time!

Guess what? This month's Deptford Dub Club was on the same day as the People's March. Great timing, eh? The DJ of the hour was Eddie Oxman, who hosts the brilliant Soho Skank. For an uplifting dose of his legendary patter and some great tunes check out this classic show from March 2015:
